Greeter Job Description
Term:
Two to three months
Task:
To greet families and check in/out children as they arrive/leave the Nursery
Responsibilities
- Be present in the nursery from 10:20 AM until noon each Sunday morning, until all the children are picked up
- Use a new check in/out form each Sunday. Place completed check in/out form into the attendance folder
- Offer a friendly greeting to each family
- Remind parents to put a nametag on their child's back and assist them to check in. Be alert for symptoms of illness. Do not admit a child with signs of illness, such as a cold or fever
- Assist parents in updating information sheets at the beginning of each month
- Put the child's water bottle/bag away and give parents the tag number
- Assist a new child's parents to fill in the "Student Information" and "Lincoln's Regulations" sheets. Give out the Nursery Handbook, which includes: Parent Welcome sheet, Check-in/out procedure & Parent's monthly Home Page. Provide directions to adult programs
- Encourage parents and other older children to stay outside the nursery area during classes and worship time
- Help caregivers provide physical and emotional care for children
- Check out students (have parents put their name tag back in the holder). Each child should be picked up only by their own parent or designated person
- At the end of the class, fill in the student attendance number on the church student head count summary sheet
- Attend at least one training event prior to the term of service
- You are strongly encouraged to join the Sunday School Morning Prayer Meeting, 10:10–10:20 AM, in the inner chamber of Room 35
Caregiver Job Description
Term:
Two to three months
Task:
To lovingly care for toddlers and babies
Responsibilities
- Be present in the nursery from 10:20 AM to noon each Sunday morning, until all the children are picked up
- Upon arriving, quickly scan the room for safety hazards and remove any potential problem items (tables, chairs, broken toys, chalk, etc.)
- Assist parents in putting a nametag on their child's back and help them check in
- Provide physical and emotional care for the children
- Engage children in the learning activities suggested in the "Teacher's Home Page" you will receive
- Follow guidelines for diapering, feeding and caring for children as described in the "Teacher Training Articles"
- At the end of class, clean up the classroom. Move the toy box to hallway, next to the door
- Help teachers move back all classroom furniture, restoring it to its original configuration
- Attend at least one training event prior to the term of service
- You are strongly encouraged to join the Sunday School Morning Prayer Meeting, 10:10–10:20 AM, in the inner chamber of Room 35
Teacher Job Description
Term:
Three to six months
Task:
To bring teaching materials, teach, and oversee the classroom
Responsibilities
- Be present in the nursery from 10:20 AM to noon each Sunday morning, until all the children are picked up
- Prepare and conduct weekly lessons
- Set up the classroom for lessons and make sure the classroom is returned to its original state
- Be responsible for the Teaching Resource Luggage:
- CD player
- Cleaned floor blanket
- Nursery Smart Pages
- "I Love to Sing" CD or tape
- Song posters
- Teaching poster and photo
- "I Love to Wiggle and Giggle!" Instant activities book
- "I Love to Look!" Bible story picture cards
- CCMC Nursery handbook
- Students' name and number tags
- Hand sanitizer and white tissue box
- Stationery for the class
- Toys
- Wash the floor blanket weekly
- Copy and distribute Parent and Teacher's Home Pages each month
- Communicate regularly with the nursery coordinator
- Attend at least one training event prior to the term of service
